World-renowned Mexican artist Curiot spent a week at the new Casa del Barco location at Short Pump Town Center creating a mural that reflects the region of the nation from which he hails – the same area from which Casa del Barco's food influences are based.

From Aztec prints to sugar skulls, his work is heavily influenced by Mexican folklore.

Richmond Mural Project Founder and Executive Director Shane Pomajambo recommended Curiot to the ownership group of HOUSEpitality, which operates Casa del Barco. The effort was inspired by the murals on the Canal Walk, across from Casa del Barco's downtown location.
