Atlantic Union completes merger with American National Bank and Trust Co.

Officials with Atlantic Union Bank recently announced the successful completion of the merger of American National Bank and Trust Company, integrating the two organizations’ branches and operations throughout Virginia, North Carolina, and Maryland.
The combined bank will have more than 129 branches and approximately 150 ATMs in the three states. The merger integrates American National’s branches and operations into Atlantic Union Bank.
“Following our detailed merger integration playbook to seek to ensure a smooth transition, our teammates have worked diligently on the data conversion and systems integration of American National since the merger announcement last summer,” said Maria Tedesco, president and chief operating officer of Atlantic Union Bank, which is headquartered in Richmond.
