Atlantic Union Bank officials partnered with JA Finance Park at Libbie Mill Library in Henrico April 9 to teach high school students how to create and stick to a budget.

The event, which was open to Surry County High School students enrolled in business classes, allowed participants to experience what it takes to manage their money and set themselves up for financial success through a hands-on budgeting simulation.

"No matter what phase of life you're in, financial education is so important," said Atlantic Union Bank Senior Vice President and Director of Financial Risk Management and Risk Operations Development and Reinvestment Steven Yaeger. "Learning how to budget as a teen is a positive step to building healthy money management skills."
