Applications open for Henrico Schools' 2020-21 preschool program

Will your child be 4 years old by Sept. 30, 2020? If so, he or she will be eligible to apply for the 2020-21 Henrico Schools' Early Learning Preschool program.

The program is designed to provide a high-quality preschool environment for children.

Interested parents and guardians, should submit a pre-application online at henricoschools.us/preschool and then complete a paper application (available at a preschool recruiting event or at your home elementary school). Then, bring the required documents to a preschool recruiting event, shown below. If you can’t come to a preschool recruiting event, e-mail preschool@henrico.k12.va.us to schedule an appointment.

Preschool recruiting events are scheduled:

• March 10 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Eastern Henrico Recreation Center, 1440 N Laburnum Ave., Henrico, Va. 23223;

• March 17 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Eastern Henrico Recreation Center;

• March 23 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at the New Bridge Learning Center Auditorium, 5915 Nine Mile Road, Henrico, Va. 23223

• March 30 from 1-4 p.m. at Springfield Park Elementary School, 4301 Fort McHenry Parkway, Glen Allen, Va. 23060

Children are not admitted on a first-come, first-served basis, and are not guaranteed acceptance into the program. Henrico County Public Schools encourages families of children with special needs to apply; if children require special accommodations, families should notify school staff members when scheduling the appointment.

There is no cost for the program for families, and transportation will be provided for preschool students in accordance with the school division’s transportation guidelines.
