Allegiant this week began its new twice-weekly nonstop service from Richmond International Airport to Nashville. The airline initially is offering one-way fares for as low as $61 for flights between July 1 and Aug. 2 that are purchased by June 16.

"We're thrilled to be launching another nonstop route from Richmond International Airport, and what better city than Nashville," said Drew Wells, Allegiant's vice president of planning and revenue. "Nashville is a popular destination, so we know area travelers will love having nonstop, affordable and friendly flights to explore everything Music City has to offer this summer."

The new seasonal flights will operate twice weekly from Richmond International Airport to Nashville International Airport. With this addition, Allegiant offers nonstop service to three cities from RIC, including Orlando / Sanford, Florida and Tampa / St. Pete, Florida. Flight days, times and the lowest fares can be found only at Allegiant.com.

"Today, all credit to Allegiant, we celebrate Richmond International Airport's first-ever nonstop access to Nashville," said Jon E. Mathiasen, president and CEO of the Capital Region Airport Commission. "We appreciate Allegiant's commitment to connect these two exciting communities that share so many cultural ties and a long list of business relationships. Easier than ever before, visitors can travel between Music City USA and RVA to enjoy the unique offerings of each region."
