Allegiant Nov. 13 announced that it will begin service from Richmond to Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport April 4. The airline is offering one-way fares on the route for as low as $65 for a limited time.

“We’re thrilled to be adding a new destination for Richmond-area travelers,” said Drew Wells, Allegiant vice president of planning and revenue. “We’re sure that everyone will enjoy getting away to beautiful Sarasota on these convenient, nonstop, ultra-low-cost flights.”

The new year-round flights will operate twice weekly – Thursdays and Sundays. With the addition of the new route, Allegiant will now serve four cities from Richmond International Airport. Flight days and times are available at Allegiant.com.

“We’re excited to see Allegiant growing again in Richmond,” said Jon E. Mathiasen, AAE, president and CEO, Capital Region Airport Commission. “As we approach Allegiant’s fourth anniversary of service at RIC, adding Sarasota to a line-up that already includes the Tampa Bay area, Orlando and Nashville, is big news for travelers seeking flight and vacation package getaway options this year-round destination.”
