All Henrico Schools meals now being distributed on Wednesdays only

Table of Contents

All free student breakfasts and lunches being provided by Henrico County Public Schools now are being distributed just once per week – on Wednesdays – beginning March 10.

The change occurred as in-person learning for all students who chose it switched to a four-day-per-week format beginning this week. In-person students will attend school Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and all students will learn virtually on Wednesdays. School officials didn’t want to have meal pick-up occurring at the same time students were in school, hence the switch from previous four- and five-day per week patterns.

Curbside pick-up will be available every Wednesday the rest of the school year, except holidays or snow days, from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at all participating school locations. (Not every school is included.)

In addition, school buses will deliver meals every Wednesday to dozens of bus stops countywide.

In all cases, a full week’s worth of meals will be offered to those who pick them up.
