The Weinstein JCC has announced an increase in its "Building a Bright Future Together" capital campaign goal as the result of overwhelming early community support. The JCC already has nearly reached its initial goal of $8.5 million, with $8.1 million already raised, and its capital campaign committee and board of directors have chosen to elevate the goal to $10.5 million in order to further enhance the center's facilities.
The expanded vision includes modernizing key spaces such as the Dora L. Lewis Family and Child Development Center, improving the preschool and increasing its capacity. Afterschool and summer camp programs also will see significant upgrades, allowing the JCC to serve more children.
Additional renovations include the fitness center and aquatics facilities, which will be transformed with state-of-the-art amenities. A renovated lobby and the addition of the region's only Kosher Grab and Go Market are planned, as well.
“Recently, our center was ranked in the top five nationwide for Jewish impact and program profitability in benchmarking studies,” said Orly Lewis, CEO of the Weinstein JCC. “With 91% of our members indicating that they are likely to continue their membership, it is clear that the bonds formed here are strong and enduring. Meeting our initial fundraising goal in record time is a testament to the power of community support.”
The Weinstein JCC, founded in 1946, serves more than 8,000 members of diverse backgrounds.
