Henrico Education Foundation raises $400k at Excellence in Education Celebration

Thanks to contributions from 68 business sponsors, the Henrico Education Foundation raised a record-breaking $400,000 at its fourth-annual Excellence in Education Celebration April 11 in Richmond. The event, held at the Dewey Gottwald Center, attracted more than 550 people and showcased the work of the foundation and Henrico County Public Schools.

The evening's program featured hands-on activities and exhibits that highlighted 17 career clusters offered to HCPS students, allowing attendees to explore their interests and learn about the skills needed for future success. A matching gift challenge made by a group of anonymous donors on the night of the event means that additional donations will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $25,000, with the potential to bring an additional $50,000 to help students discover their life path.
