Virginia Credit Union recently awarded $2,500 scholarships to seven Henrico County students through its Virginia Credit Union Scholarship Program.
The students were selected on the basis of scholastic achievement, community service, extracurricular activities, an essay, and work to help cover the cost of education.
The Henrico County winners were:
• Alexandrea Chambliss of Henrico, a senior at J. R. Tucker High School
• Chase Deles of Glen Allen, a senior at J. R. Tucker High School
• Alexis Massenburg of Glen Allen, a senior at Glen Allen High School
• Kamryn Owen of Glen Allen, a senior at Highland Springs High School
• Alexander Sellers of Glen Allen, a homeschooled high school senior
• Kayla Buchanan of Glen Allen, a sophomore at Christopher Newport University
• Courtney Jefferson of Henrico, a junior at Old Dominion University
Overall, Virginia Credit Union awarded $75,000 in college scholarships to 30 student members through its program. Virginia Credit Union has awarded nearly $1.25 million in college scholarships to student members since 1991.
