6 Henrico County high school baseball players participating in Commonwealth Games July 12-14

Baseball players from six Henrico County high schools are on the roster of the all-star Central team that will be competing in the 2024 Virginia Commonwealth Games at Liberty University July 12-14.

The top 15-17 year-old high school players in Virginia will represent four regions of the state in an eight game playoff. College coaches and Major League scouts are invited and attend this annual showcase. Notable tournament alumni include Justin Verlander, David Wright, BJ Upton, Justin Upton, Ryan Zimmerman and others. The tournament begins Friday at 5 p.m. with the Central team taking on the West team at 5 p.m., following by opening ceremonies at 7:30 p.m.

Local members of the Central team include outfielder Hudson Williams and pitcher Cal Travers of Mills Godwin; catch/first baseman Brian Archer of The Steward School; catcher Jackson Rogish of Freeman High School; pitcher Ian Baldwin of Glen Allen High School; and infielder/pitcher Harrison Baxter of Collegiate School.

The medal games on Sunday will be live-streamed online for free at CommonwealthGames.org/sports-stream
