Six Henrico-based companies have made the annual Fortune 1000 list of U.S.-based publicly traded businesses with the highest levels of annual revenue.

The Henrico businesses on the list are:

No. 165 – Altria Group, $21.1 billion (up 1.3%), down 27 spots from last year’s Fortune 100 list;
No. 289 – Markel, $12.8 billion (up 32%), up 22 spots;
No. 434 – Genworth Financial, $7.88 billion (down 9%), down 86 spots;
No. 498 – ARKO Holdings, $6.4 billion (up 88%), up 183 spots;
No. 663 – ASGN, $4.33 billion (up 9.7%), down 41 spots;
No. 675 – The Brink’s Company, $4.2 billion (up 13.8%), down 25 spots.

ARKO Holdings, the parent company of FasMart gas stations, became the county’s fourth Fortune 500 company with its significant jump in the rankings.

The highest-ranked Virginia company on the list is the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (commonly known as Freddie Mac) at No. 56. The company is a publicly traded, government-sponsored firm headquartered in Tysons Corner and had revenues of nearly $66 billion in 2021, down half a percent from 2020. It fell 9 spots from its ranking last year.

The highest-ranked local company on the list is Goochland-based Performance Food Group, a food service distribution company that had revenues of $30.4 billion last year (up 21% from 2020) and moved up 2 spots from its ranking last year.
