44-year-old Henrico man shot and killed

A 44-year-old Henrico man was shot and killed near the Henrico-Richmond line near Williamsburg Road Aug. 20.
Earl Young, Jr., was shot in the 4800 block of Hillbrook Avenue (near its intersection with Hillbrook Avenue in Eastern Henrico) just after 9 p.m., according to Henrico Police.
Police had responded to the area for calls of a suspicious situation and heard several gunshots shortly after they arrived. They witnessed a group of males running from a yard and fleeing in vehicles, then located Young in a yard suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He died at the scene.
Another man approached officers and told them that he also had been shot. He was taken to a local hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Police are seeking suspects in the shootings. Anyone who may have seen or heard anything in the neighborhood at about 9 p.m. Sunday should contact Henrico Police Det. Z.
