Virginia Credit Union has awarded $2,500 scholarships to three Henrico County students through its Virginia Credit Union Scholarship Program.

The students were selected on the basis of scholastic achievement, community service, extracurricular activities, an essay, and work to help cover the cost of education.

The Henrico County winners are:

• Kaylee Johnson, a 2018 graduate of J.R. Tucker High School, who will attend Christopher Newport University.

• Emily Emerson, a senior at Virginia Tech, studying biological sciences – pre-med.

• Paxton O’Bryen, a 2018 graduate of Glen Allen High School, who will attend Virginia Commonwealth University.

Overall, Virginia Credit Union awarded $75,000 in college scholarships to 30 student members through its program. Virginia Credit Union has awarded more than $1 million in college scholarships to student members since 1991.
