3 Henrico students earn Allen & Allen scholarships

Three Henrico residents are among 15 Virginia students who received $2,000 scholarships from the Allen & Allen law firm for overcoming adversity as they head into their college careers.
The three Henrico students (and their colleges or universities) are:
• Shrinidhi Nadgouda of Glen Allen (University of Virginia);
• Dinachi Utah of Henrico (Virginia Tech);
• Kevin Xue of Glen Allen: (University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign).
The George E. Allen Academic Scholarship fund – now in its 30th year – has awarded more than $500,000 to local students in honor of the firm’s founder, George E. Allen, Sr., who overcame hardship to fund his college and law school careers. Allen & Allen was established in 1910.
“We know these $2,000 scholarships are going to help pave the way for more successes moving forward, and we look forward to seeing all that these students accomplish,” Edward Allen, president of the Allen Law Firm, said via press release.
The firm held an outdoor dinner on May 11 at the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden, where the students and their families and Allen & Allen attorneys and partners celebrated the achievements of those in attendance.
