Henrico Humane Society will hold its 22nd annual Pet Expo on Saturday, Feb. 25, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Richmond Raceway Complex, 600 East Laburnum Avenue.

Pet Expo is designed as a family and pet friendly event with pets in mind. A full day of activities is scheduled, including a pet parade, puppy and Dachshund races, dog contests, a lure course, dog adoptions and several silent auctions.

The kids’ area will have activities and an ‘adoption stand’ with stuffed animals. More than 50 vendors will be on site selling pet-related products and services. Attendees can find everything from unique collars to toys and treats to obedience trainers. WTVR-TV personality Greg McQuade is scheduled to emcee the event.

“The Pet Expo combines family fun with pet-friendly events and activities for everyone,” HHS Vice President and event organizer Melissa Golden said. “As our flagship fundraising event for more than two decades, the Pet Expo enables us to continue to rescue animals and provide the medical care and support so many of them need before they can be adopted.”

The 50/50 raffle winner will be announced at Pet Expo. Attendance is not required to win. Just 1,000 tickets are available for purchase giving one winner the opportunity to take home $5,000. Tickets can be purchased for $10 each online or at the Pet Expo event.

Sponsors of the event include Henrico County, CBS 6, Holiday Barn Pet Resorts, Nestle Purina PetCare, Petco Love, Richmond Family Magazine and Toby Town RVA.

Admission is $10 for adults at the door and $5 for children ages 6-12; children under 6 and pets are free. Tickets can be purchased online for $8 prior to the event. All proceeds benefit Henrico Humane Society. For details, visit the HHS Facebook page or its website.

In 2022, the Henrico Humane Society helped people adopt more than 150 dogs and cats.
