A 22-year-old Henrico man was arrested and charged with entering a restricted area inside the perimeter fence at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. April 25, according to U.S. Capitol Police.
Marc Beauchamp allegedly scaled a fence along First Street at the site at about 11:38 p.m and was immediately stopped by several officers, arrested and charged with unlawful entry. The fence had been erected after the Jan. 6 insurrection at the site.
Beauchamp also illegally parked a vehicle on the grass near the Lincoln Memorial, officials said. Investigators believe the case to have been an isolated incident, according to a release.
