2 Henrico schools to host plant sales in April, May

Two Henrico schools will host plant sales in the coming days.

The Advanced Career Education Center at Virginia Randolph will host a sale April 21 and 22 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the center, 2204 Mountain Road in Glen Allen, while the Advanced Career Education Center at Hermitage High School will host a sale May 5 and 6 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days, at the school, 8301 Hungary Spring Road.

The sales will feature a large selection of flowers, vegetables, herbs and hanging baskets. Students at the two schools have been working to prepare plants for the annual events.

The Virginia Randolph event will include summer vegetables and herbs (each starting at $2 apiece), as well as pollinator-friendly annuals and perennials (starting at $3 apiece) and lawn and garden art made by students enrolled in HCPS welding classes. Only checks and cash will be accepted.

The Hermitage event will include a variety of annuals, perennials, vegetables and herbs. Four-packs ($2) and six-packs ($4) of plants will be available, along with potted plants (ranging from $1.50 to $7 apiece) and hanging baskets (starting at $14 apiece). Some premium plants will be available at higher prices. Only checks and cash will be accepted.
