Table of Contents

Henrico County Public Schools families, staff members and community members will have an opportunity to voice their thoughts about the school division’s second nine weeks at a “Listening Town Hall” to be held virtually Tuesday, Oct. 20, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Board members Kristi Kinsella (of the Brookland District) and Marcie Shea (Tuckahoe) will listen to constituent input on behalf of the board.

The School Board will receive a recommendation Oct. 22 from the HCPS Health Committee on an instructional approach for the second nine weeks of school, which begins Nov. 16, and is expected to vote that same day on a plan for that quarter.

The listening event is designed to gather input from community members and staff members. No new material will be presented at the session, and board members will not accept questions.

The board also will host a public comment period at its Oct. 22 meeting from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., and officials also are accepting comments in advance of the meeting through an online form.

To actively participate and provide input regarding school reopening during the Oct. 20 listening session, join the event at https://tinyurl.com/listening-town-hall.

To observe the session without commenting, use the livestream link that will appear shortly before the start of the event at https://henricoschools.us/. The event will also be recorded for future viewing.

No registration is required, participation is free and you can take part without creating a Microsoft Teams account.
