Table of Contents
Virginia’s largest fan-run science fiction and fantasy convention returns April 25-27 at The Virginia Crossings Hotel in Glen Allen.
RavenCon 2025 will feature more than 300 hours of programming, including author signings, expert panels, workshops, reading, concerts and more. Fans can participate in cosplay and costume contests, an escape room, art show and a wide variety of family-friendly activities.
The convention also will feature the Ultimate Blanket Fort Competition, during which contestants will have 45 minutes to build the most imaginative blanket fort they can create.
This year’s author guest of honor is Alix E. Harrow, a New York Times-bestselling author and Hugo Award winner. Harrow’s work has received nominations for the Nebula, World Fantasy, Locus, Southern Book Prize, British Fantasy, and Goodreads Choice awards.
Horror host Count Gore De Vol returns again as well. Portrayed by actor Dick Dyszel, Count Gore began thrilling audiences in 1973 with Creature Feature on WDCA 20 in Washington, D.C. He currently hosts films through the American Film Institute and shares his spooky charm on his Roku channel, Count Gore De Vol Presents.
More than 1,000 fans from across the region are expected to attend this year’s RavenCon.
Weekend passes are $60 at the door. Young adults can attend for $20, and children 11 and under get in free. Single-day passes are $30 for Friday and Sunday, and $40 for Saturday.
