17 more COVID cases reported in Henrico schools

Seventeen more cases of COVID-19 have been reported at 14 Henrico schools and facilities since Jan. 7, according to Henrico County Public Schools.

The new cases included two at Freeman High School, two at Ratcliffe Elementary School and two at Dumbarton Elementary School. Only one of those six cases (the second one at Dumbarton) involved someone who was last in the building this month.

The new batch of cases also included the first ones to be reported at Kaechele Elementary and Glen Lea Elementary since the school system began tracking cases Aug. 12.

During that time, 176 confirmed cases now have been reported at 65 HCPS facilities.

Facilities at which other new cases were reported since Jan. 7 include:

• ACE Center at Hermitage High;
• Central Office (Facilities Department);
• Eastern Henrico Government Center;
• Elko Middle;
• Godwin High;
• Highland Springs High;
• Moody Middle;
• Twin Hickory Elementary;
• Ward Elementary.
