Seventeen new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Henrico County’s public schools Friday, prompting 150 people to enter quarantine, according to data provided by the school system.

In total since schools began reopening on a staggered basis Feb. 22 for in-person learning, 55 COVID cases have been reported at 31 schools during in-school, extracurricular, or sports activities, forcing 548 people into quarantine.

The new cases (none of which were related to extracurricular or sports activities) included:
• two at Tuckahoe Middle School, leading to 40 people entering quarantine;
• one at Tucker High School, sending 24 people to quarantine;
• one at Brookland Middle School (18 people quarantining);
• one at Pinchbeck Elementary School (18 people quarantining);
• one at Skipwith Elementary School (17 people quarantining);
• one at Tuckahoe Elementary School (13 people quarantining);
• one at Greenwood Elementary School (12 people quarantining);
• two at Glen Allen Elementary School (four people quarantining);
• one at Glen Allen High School (three people quarantining);
• one at Pocahontas Middle School (one person quarantining);
• single cases at Fair Oaks, Harvie, Nuckols Farm and Ridge elementaries, as well as the ACE Center at Hermitage High School (no quarantines at any of the five schools).

Tucker High School has fared the worst so far, with four cases causing 87 people to quarantine.

Highland Springs High School has had two extracurricular cases resulting in 68 people quarantining. Harvie Elementary’s four cases have prompted 59 people to quarantine, and three cases at Godwin High led to 42 quarantines.
