Henrico man ties for first in Major League Fishing co-angler event

Henrico’s Michael Rustin tied for first place in the Strike-King co-angler division of the Major League Fishing Phoenix Bass Fishing League Presented by T-H Marine event on the James River July 22, catching five bass that totaled 12 pounds, 15 ounces. Rustin earned $1,728, while co-champion Rickey Wood of Smithfield, Virginia, earned slightly more, as the result of a contingency award.
The tournament, hosted by Richmond Region Tourism, was the fourth event of the season for the BFL Piedmont Division. Kermit Crowder of Matoaca earned $5,830 for his overall victory, catching a five-bass limit total of 22 pounds, 10 ounces.
